Nachdem sämtliche Verstärkungskräfte abgezogen wurden, um Waldbrände einzudämmen, und die Kommunikation vollständig zusammengebrochen ist, kämpfen der Leiter des Polizeipostens von Hope, Bum-seok, und die Polizistin Sung-ae darum, ein Dorf voller älterer Menschen zu schützen. Währenddessen brechen Sung-ki und weitere Menschen aus dem Dorf in die umliegenden Berge auf, um eine mysteriöse Bestie aufzuspüren – doch schon bald werden sie selbst zur Beute. Was aus Unwissenheit beginnt, setzt eine Katastrophe in Gang, die sich durch menschliche Konflikte zu einer Tragödie kosmischen Ausmaßes entwickelt.

After all reinforcements were withdrawn to contain wildfires and communications completely broke down, Bum-seok, the chief of the Hope police station, and police officer Sung-ae struggle to protect a village full of elderly people. Meanwhile, Sung-ki and others from the village set out into the surrounding mountains to track down a mysterious beast—but soon they themselves become the prey. What begins as a case of ignorance sets off a catastrophe that, fueled by human conflict, escalates into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.
